Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

Pain is really relative. Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. It does hurt. Just not that much. Some have compared it to a "hot scratching feeling". But, people would not be returning again and again for a tattoo after a tattoo if it hurt that bad! Most of us are not into pain, but the beauty of the tattoo and the pride associated with wearing it far outweighs a little pin-stick here and there.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Deposits may vary from $50.00, $ 100.00, $150.00,  for one session tattoos, for 8+ hours tattoo designs, deposit will vary upon your consultation with the artist.

How long will you hold my deposit for?

Once you've made your deposit and a tattoo date has been made, your deposit will held for 2 months after your first session

(this applies for bigger pieces that require more sessions)  and again another 2 months after the second, third session and so on, to be usable on your last session. If, after your first session, you are not able to book within the 2 months you have to give your artsist proper notice in advance of a a minimum of 48 hours notice. If no notice has been made your deposit becomes forfeit and a new deposit will be required. If the artist has tried to contact you within the 2 months for your next session, with no succes, your deposit becomes forfeit. We would love everything to go smoothly for both of us, communication is the key.

I'm not sure on what to get?

If you're getting a tattoo, especially as an expression of your individuality, why would you want a tattoo just like someone else's?  Instead, find other pictures of what you're looking for or have an artist draw up a custom design for you.  Example: If you are wanting a tattoo of a wolf standing on top of a rocky mountain, find real images of a wolf and a rock mountain.  If you want a tattoo of a blue rose wrapped around a cross, find images of real roses and crosses that you like.  If the pictures don't show exactly what you want, just take them to your artist to use, they will use them as guidelines and tell you what changes you may want to be made to the original pictures.  A real artist will welcome the challenge of a custom piece.  Ultimately you can get whatever you want, and whatever your artist is willing to do. You can choose a picture off the wall, or you can have them create a custom piece just for you. Your only limit is your own imagination.

What is the best time of year to get a tattoo?

Although you can get a tattoo any time of the year, your skin gets a lot more abuse during the summer with swimming, tanning and just being exposed to the elements more. Wintertime is really the best season to get a tattoo.

Is it ok to get a tattoo if I'm sick?

When your immune system is low, we recommend not to get tattooed. You're going to need your strength and your white blood cells to heal your tattoo, something your body won't be able to do if it's already doing battle against viruses and bacteria. If you have an appointment, call and reschedule for when you're feeling well again.

Is it ok to lay out in the sun or go to the tanning bed when you have tattoos?

It might be really tempting to get some rays during the summer months, but before you ruin your tattoo, please see our section on aftercare and continuous care.

Do you do cover-ups?

Yes, We have done a lot of cover-ups and it’s great to see our clients' ecstatic reaction with their new pieces because every tattoo is different and we extremely suggest a consultation before we can give you a definitive answer.
